Paths covering:
The Grünberg is the local mountain of Gmunden on the lake Traunsee. The route starts at the eastern edge of the town. The ascent is to the Grünbergalm inn at an altitude of about 900 metres. Then it's on to Radmoos and finally back to Gmunden.
You can also start directly from Lake Traunsee (Weyer, Grünberg cable car) or at the Engelhof Park & Ride car park (Traunseetram connection).
We follow Laudachseestraße until the turn-off to the right into Güterweg Lemberg (Himmelreichstraße) at the bus stop. Follow this road up to the Grünbergbauer. After the car park at the Grünbergbauer farm, we turn right into Mitterweg, ride under the cables of the Grünberg cable car to the junction, which we take left uphill into a trail section. After a short time, we reach another forest road in the direction of Radmoss. At the Radmoos junction, we have the option of turning left uphill to the Grünbergalm inn and Grünberg summit with the Salzkammergut treetop trail.
Then back again to the Radmoos junction (junction Panoramaweg towards the cable car, or towards Laudachsee and Franzl im Holz). Turn left again in the direction of Franzl im Holz and follow the forest road to the Silberfuchs and Franzl im Holz inns. Shortly before the inn, the asphalt road begins again, which joins Laudachseestraße after the inn and which we can take left back to the Engelbauer car park, Park & Ride Engelhof or downhill back to Lake Traunsee.
