MTB-Tour Hohe Dirn (von Losenstein)
Thrilling mountain tour with a long, shady ascent rewarded by a magnificent view and a cosy chalet atmosphere.
At the start, the mountain bike route takes a leisurely course on the Ennstalradweg to the Wendbachkreuzung. From here, the trail continues 11.5 km steadily uphill through the Wendbachtal: 780 m of cumulative elevation gain, which means an average gradient of approx. 8 %. However, there are a few trail sections in the Wendbach valley that are considerably steeper than 12 %. Turn left at the crossing in Mösern. The route now runs approx. 3.3 km, with moderate undulations. After the "driving prohibited" sign, a pushing section begins on the hiking trail. Please store your bike briefly and take a five-minute detour to the peak of the Hohe Dirn. The hiking trail continues right towards the Anton Schosser chalet. After approx. 200 m, the route forks. By bike, it is more sensible to stay left and continue via the Weidenweg beneath the Anton Schosser chalet, as the hiking trail to the right is too steep and narrow for pushing bikes. After half a kilometre, the chalet is in sight. Your fun and well-earned descent begins at the Dirn car park - the route is 7 km and asphalted throughout.
