Kefermarkter Radrunde Nr. 917

The starting point is the AVIA petrol station. Follow the Summerauerbahn railway northwards (Freistadt) to the Gratzlbrücke bridge. Straight ahead on a sandy road, a short detour to the "Zur Haltestelle" inn with its private motorbike museum would be worthwhile.
From there, turn left towards Lest on an approx. 1.5 km long, gentle ascent, then almost flat to the B 310. Take care when crossing the road. After the junction on the left, Gasthof Mader is a good place for a short break. Immediately after the inn, the historic horse-drawn railway station (yellow building) is on the left. Visits are only possible from the outside - the museum is also open at weekends. After approx. 100 metres, the cycle path branches off to the left towards Kronast and the cycle path towards Hirschbach. Turning right, a route towards Freistadt to the railway station (approx. 10 km) is possible. At the Lamm/Kronast junction, continue slightly uphill towards Neumarkt. On the following straight, you are rewarded with a marvellous view over Kefermarkt. Pass the so-called "Red Cross" and after approx. 200 metres turn left onto a sandy farm track. Shortly before crossing the B 310 federal road again, you will pass one of the typical Mühlviertel farmhouses (seed breeding station). Take special care when crossing the main road!!! Now it's back along the Pernau farm track towards Kefermarkt. From the highest point downhill you can again enjoy a marvellous view of Weinberg Castle and Kefermarkt. At the next junction, cycle left back to the starting point.
TIP: Turn right and after approx. 700 metres turn left onto the "Wittinghof" estate road, continue until the left-hand fork towards Feldaist and Schiefermühle. At the next crossroads, you have the option of turning right towards Pregarten in the romantic Feldaisttal valley, past the Schiefermühle mill and another junction to the Eder Bräu beer tavern and on to Gutau.
Turn right upstream along the Feldaist back to Kefermarkt.
