Snowshoe tour at 2 100 m above sea level in a fairytale winter landscape

From Obertraun you can comfortably conquer 1 600 metres in altitude with the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car. Already during the ascent you can enjoy the beautiful winter landscape below you. From the mountain station of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car you walk under section III of the cable car towards the southwest. After you have passed a few huts, a small but steep ascent follows.

Then you continue eastwards until you reach the Heilbronn Chapel. Now go down a few meters on the left and then turn right. When you reach the top of the hill, the trail leads you slightly left. After another 50 m turn right and you have reached your destination - the viewing platform 5fingers. Enjoy the unbelievable views, the mountain panorama and the view down on Lake Hallstatt!

You return to the mountain station on the same trail.

The hiking trail is prepared and marked with poles and yellow signs every 30 to 40 m with the inscription "Five Fingers".

The trail may change depending on snow conditions.

Snow shoe rental at the valley station

You do not have any equipment? No problem. The Dachstein Krippenstein cable car offers you a special ticket including snowshoe rental: the Yeti ticket. With this ticket you can easily rent your snowshoes right next to the cable car station.

In case of emergency call the mountain rescue under 140!
