Above the gurgling Steyr
The via ferrata on the Poppenberg was built in 2014. It impresses with its great view of the Stoder Valley, the green Steyr and the Tote Gebirge.
If you have an average level of fitness and a bit of strength in your arms, you can move vertically up the ladders and over the few walking passages in the terrain towards the summit. A short rope bridge challenges you at the end. At the top, take a break and enjoy the view of Hinterstoder. Before you descend, look up at the viewing platform. There you can find out the names of the mountains in the area. Maybe this will help you discover your next destination?
How difficult is it?
You can expect a total of five steep climbs with difficulty levels B and C+, and passages in the A range in between. Climbing experience is an advantage. After a little more than halfway, you can leave the route via an emergency exit, if necessary.
