From the Toscanapark car park in Gmunden on the cycle path along the Esplanade in the direction of Gmunden town centre - across the Rathausplatz - over the Traunbrücke bridge - right into Schiffslände - right into Traunsteinstrasse - after the cable car left into the street "Im Gsperr" - right into Laudachseestrasse - right into Himmelreichstrasse - past the Grünbergbauer - right into Mitterweg - slightly left towards Radmoos - straight ahead towards Laudachsee.
Round the Laudachsee - follow the forest road towards Schrattenau ("roundabout") and turn right onto the first road and follow the forest road towards Hauergraben, after the end barrier on the road to the Hauergraben/Traxenbichl junction - turn right onto the Almtal cycle path R 11 towards Grünau im Almtal - past Grünau im Almtal railway station - at the Romantikhotel Almtalhof turn right before the bridge in the direction of CumberlandWildpark/Almsee following the R 11 - NEW: to Fischerau, there from the R 11 onto the side path (Almuferweg Genuss am Almfluss - hikers have priority!), follow the route past the wildlife park to the "Alm" river bridge before Habernau, then back onto the R11 to Schwarzenbrunn - before the bridge, turn right onto the Weißeneggbach forest road to the first hairpin bend - Now follow the Hochpfad a little steeper, past the Weißenegghütte (not open to the public) towards the Gschirrhütte (also not open to the public) to the highest point of the route at 1029 metres.

How to get to the Traunsee-Almtal Round MTB Tour. Start at the guest centre of the Traunsee-Almtal tourist region in Gmunden at Toscanapark. We also recommend travelling to the Engelhof train station in Gmunden (Park & Ride).

By train: via Attnang-Puchheim station to Gmunden station, with the Traunsee tram (line 161) from Stern & Hafferl to the Gmunden Kuferzeile stop (approx. 300 metres to the guest centre) or straight on to the Gmunden Engelhof stop, also coming from Vorchdorf Eggenberg.

Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn in the direction of Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee

by bus: OÖVV bus lines 507, 505 and city bus lines from Gmunden, bus stop Gmunden Toscanapark

by bike: The guest centre of the Traunsee-Almtal tourist region is also very easy to reach by bike and is located directly on the R 2 Salzkammergut cycle path. Cyclists coming from Laakirchen via the Traunvierteltour and the R4 Traunradweg can reach the guest centre from the Traunbrücke bridge via the Rathausplatz square and the Esplanade (approx. 1 km), or follow the MTB tour in the direction of Grünberg directly over the Traunbrücke bridge and along the boat landing stage.
