2 day tour "around Lake Attersee" - first part: Abtsdorf-Seefeld

Start the tour at the church car park in Abtsdorf.

1. From the car park, turn left into the road towards Palmsdorf.
2. After approx. 400 m, keep right past the fire station.
3. Km 1.4 keep left and follow the R2 cycle path through Palmsdorf. After another 300 m, cross the railway tracks and then the main road. Follow cycle path R2 towards Seewalchen.
4. At km 2.4 turn left, continue on R2
5. At km 2.9 follow R2
6. After 4 km you ll come to a road junction, cross it and continue on R2.
7. Follow the R2 towards Schörfling for 5.4 km
8. After 7.9 km you come to the main road and follow the R2 to the right towards Seewalchen.
9. Follow the R2 through Seewalchen and turn left after 9.7 km.
10. After 10.3 km at a junction with traffic lights, turn right and cross the Agerbrücke bridge. After 200 m turn left again into the village of Schörfling. Follow the signs R2 towards Aurach. In the village, turn right before the church and follow R2
11. At km 11.5, turn left and follow R2.
12. 12 km after crossing the main road, follow the MTB signs for Hongar-Gahberg.
13. After 13.7 km, do not follow the signs for Hongar-Gahberg, but continue straight on. Follow the signs for Poinerhaus
14. 14.7 km turn left onto Holzbauernstraße and follow the MTB signs for Gahberg again.
15. After 17.2 km turn left towards Gahberg
16. At the 17.7 km junction turn right towards Gahberg
17. At 19.8 km turn right onto the tarmac road. Stay on this road, past the Gahberg church (chapel) and the Kogler inn. The road continues into the valley towards Weyregg.
18. After the descent, you reach the village of Bach. In the village of Bach, turn left before the Bachschmiede. Follow the signs to Gasthaus Födinger or MTB route Langbathseerunde NR. 54
19. Continue straight ahead at km 31.9. Signposted towards Hochkreut Tierpark, Rundweg untere Talbergstraße.
20. After 33.8 km, keep right twice in quick succession, always towards Hochkreut Tierpark
21. Km 35.5 keep right towards Tierpark Hochkreut, Reindlmühl
22. At km 37.5 turn left onto the tarmac road and ride downhill towards Reindlmühl
23. 40 km turn right onto the main road towards Neukirchen.
24. At km 41, at a large junction, turn right towards Steinbach am Attersee, or Taferklaussee, Hochleckenlifte
25. At km 45, leave the main road and turn left onto the forest road towards Langbathseen, signposted Windlegern- Neukirchen. Just before the Nadasdy Klause
26. At km 46 turn right towards Langbathseen
27. After 48.6 km turn left towards Hinterer Langbathsee, Schafluckensteig.
28. After a short section of pushing and a short descent, you come to a forest road at 48.8 km - turn right uphill.
29. Attention: if you still have time and energy here, you should turn left and take the loop around the Langbathseen lakes. Highly recommended for the scenery!
30. Keep right at km 50, signposted Große Luegrunde.

Follow this forest road until you reach the Großalmstraße. Turn left onto the Großalmstraße, follow it past the Taferlklaussee lake to the highest point and down the other side to the Gasthaus Kienklause inn.

After 57 km you ll reach the Gasthaus Kienklause, where you can finish the first day and spend the night, or you can turn right into the old Kienklausstraße and follow it to Seefeld and finish the day's stage there.
