Orte des Glaubens: Entdeckungsrunden am Mondseeberg

A beautiful forest hike on the Mondsee's local mountain, the Mondseeberg, with a few variations and a detour to the panoramic Hochalm.

Starting from viewing car park 2, follow hiking trail no. 3 to the Hochalm. On the meadow area, turn left off the hiking trail over the hill to the memorial at the hunting lodge (pos. 73), then along the meadow path back to the forest road. We follow this in the direction of Straß (Schauerwald forest road, mountain bike trail). At first the route continues almost flat, then downhill. At the junction with another forest road, the mountain bike trail (Spranzelbachleiten-Forststraße) branches off to the left at an acute angle. Following this, we reach the Eichhorn-Marterl (Pos. 74) and the Krenn-Marterl (Pos. 75) and come to Haslaustraße (L1279), where we turn left back to the starting point. The Spindler-Marienbild (Pos. 76) is a little off the beaten track on the first forest road that branches off to the left from Haslaustraße (Gangerlfang-Forststraße).
Grubinger-Marterl (Pos. 79) and Mirl-Bild (Pos. 80) can be visited as a detour from the main circuit or as a separate circuit. The path to the Mirl-Bild (Pos. 80) is not marked from the forest road and is difficult to find. The easiest way to get there is from Powang (Krötenmühle) along the Spranzelbach, past the Spranzelbachstube and back along the same path.
