Tarsdorfer Brotweg In our culture, bread often symbolises life. When people had a sufficient supply of bread, peace prevailed. The bread oven on the village square in Tarsdorf is both a monument to everyday culture and the centrepiece of the bread trail. Based on an idea by the artist Hans Kumpfmüller, 52 bread sliders were designed by the inhabitants of Tarsdorf and placed along a 5.7 km long path as a LandART installation. Together with 24 themed panels about grain, nutrition, work, spirituality and peace, they are intended to encourage people to think about "our daily bread".
START: Starting from the village square, the bread trail leads in a southerly direction past the old baking oven, along the footpath to the Hintermaier chapel. Continue through the Am Anger housing estate and turn left towards Eckldorf at the junction with Eckldorfer Straße. About 100 metres after the sign for Eckldorf, turn right. The gravel path runs alongside the quarry pond. At the end of the gravel path, you cross Öllinger Straße and walk through the forest towards Ehersdorf. In Ehersdorf, turn right onto a meadow path towards the sports field and return to Tarsdorf.
