Even the beginning of the hike at the Scheiblingau parking lot along the Krumme Steyrling is worth a trip: so-called "Bodinge" (erosion formations in the rocks of the streams) gave the valley its name.
After about 30 minutes, you reach the snack station "Jägerhaus." Those who want to strengthen themselves before the ascent are warmly invited here in the large beer garden or in the cozy lounge. Slightly above towers the hunting lodge of Count Lamberg – guided tours with the national park ranger are an experience!
Now the trail continues on path no. 472 a, steadily uphill on a former "salt carrier path" up to the Schaumbergalm. It lies idyllically on the alpine pasture between the summits and already greets hikers and mountain bikers from afar.
The well-deserved stop with the hut keeper Waltraud is a pleasure! Here guests are spoiled with hearty dishes from the alpine kitchen.
Now you can decide whether to conquer the summit of Trämpl and Alpstein and descend via the Ebenforstalm (continuously managed from May to the end of October) – additional walking time approx. 2 hours – or to hike back to the valley the same way.
For a comfortable conclusion to this beautiful hike, you can plan another stop at the Jägerhaus in the valley. In any case, you return home with many beautiful impressions!
From Molln, you reach the Scheiblingau parking lot in the Bodinggraben, where the hike starts upstream to the Jagahäusl. Shortly after the Jagahäusl, the path no. 472 steadily goes uphill to the Schaumbergalm. Then you continue to the summit of Trämpl and Alpstein and descend on the other side to Ebenforstalm. From Ebenforstalm, the path leads over a small rise on the alpine pasture and then down a trail to the Jagahäusl and back on the forest road to the starting point.
