Forest air bathing in Lasberg

The northern part of Lasberg lies in the Central Mühlviertel highlands and the southern part in the Aist-Naarn-Kuppenland. The central settlement and economic area of Lasberg, with the Feistritz river flowing through it, stretches out in between. The landscape centre of the northern highlands is the Haugenödtberg, the southern hilltop area the Buchberg. With these two landscape centres, Lasberg has a rich supply of vital energy and the wealth of two different landscape qualities that meet in the Feistritz valley.

High altitude forest bathing trail

From Markt Lasberg, head north to Hahn. There, a detour into the Panholz leads to the historic Reindl quarries and quarry lakes, such as the Grüner See. Back at La4, we hike uphill to the Hofbauernkreuz. The path continues to the Heidenstein, a rock formation with cup stones. We continue to the summit of the historic Haugenödterberg with the remains of a lookout tower from the 1st and 2nd World Wars. The power place at the summit encourages concentration and contemplation. A little further on, we have a view of the Steinböckhof quarry. To the west, we come to the hoof-iron-shaped clearing of Seitling, open to the north, with the Hofbauern chapel. The Bronze Age ancestors of the two farms used to worship here. Here, with a view of St Peter and St Michael, there were Celtic signal fires, which are still midsummer fires today. We walk back to the Hofbauern cross. Shortly afterwards, the path branches off to the right to Kopenberg, a beautiful mossy place with a very calming effect. From Kopenberg back down to Lasberg along the Children's Way of the Cross. Walking time approx. 4 hours.
