Description:

The Salzkammergut, known for beautiful scenery, numerous lakes and lush green meadows and fields, can now be experienced in a new way. Over 626 km and 14,500 meters in altitude, the BergeSeen eTrail leads through the region. It is thus not the shortest eMTB tour, but certainly leads to the most beautiful places in the Salzkammergut.

Not only the emperor loved the summer resort in the Salzkammergut, also many artists and intellectuals spent their summer with preference in the region - with and without bike. Following in their footsteps, you can now immerse yourself once again in this world of inspiration and relaxation via eMTB.

Directions:

In a long round trip of 10 day-etap-pen the BergeSeen eTrail leads from the Upper Austrian Mondsee over the picturesque Irrsee to the emerald green Fuschlsee and further over the Faistenauer Schafberg, Hintersee, Ebenau and the Strubklamm to Faistenau, from there over the Zwölferhorn to Strobl at the Wolfgangsee. The trail continues over the Postalm, Pass Gschütt, the Hornspitz to Gosau and the Vorderen Gosausee with the famous Dachstein view.

Via the Durchgangalm, the trail leads to the World Heritage region of Hallstatt, from where it continues cycling along Lake Hallstatt via Bad Goisern, Leisling and Altaussee to Bad Aussee in Styria.

From Bad Aussee there is a Styrian loop via Bad Mitterndorf, along the Schnecken and the Grundlsee. The route leads from Altaussee via the Rettenbachalm and the Ewige Wand to Bad Ischl, the spa town where the emperor used to stroll.

From Bad Ischl, Grünau im Almtal is approached via Gmunden and the Grünberg with the picturesque Laudachsee. Then the route continues via the Almsee and Offensee lakes to Ebensee and via the Langbathsee lakes to Steinbach am Attersee. From there, the tour returns to Mondsee via the Eisenaualm and along the Attersee via Unterach and Nußdorf.

Tip:

Get your BergeSeen Pass and with a bit of luck win a holiday in the Salzkammergut and one of 2 KTM eMountainbikes.

Safety guidelines:

For a successful, accident free and exciting day you will find tips for planning before the tour here.

Equipment:

Please note that any MTB tours can always be done with proper equipment.

Additional information:

As new figures on the playing field of mountain and recreational sportsmen, we E-MTB riders have a special responsibility to behave appropriately.

In Graubünden bikers and hikers share the paths. A project that should set a precedent. But this can only be done with mutual respect. Black sheep throw us back years.

With common rules of play, we ensure that the forest will continue to provide a unique recreational and living space as well as jobs for everyone in the future.
