The mountain and fairytale trail at the eternall wall ("Ewige Wand") in Bad Goisern is a unique highlight for the whole family. The route along the legends from the Salzkammergut can be mastered as there are only a view vertical meters to climb. A stop at the hut and a fantastic mountain panorama is included for sure!
The eternall wall ("Ewige Wand") in Bad Goisern has always been a popular destination, so in 1956 the two tunnels, which the 5000 starters of the Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Trophy struggle through, were completed.
Family hike with exciting legends from Bad Goisern
In 2007 the fairytale trail was opened with lovingly carved figures and has brought exciting stories from the Salzkammergut closer to the countless children. There are exactly seven legends from the past and the life and origins of the Inner Salzkammergut that will accompany you on the approximately 1.5 kilometer path. Fittingly there are some carved figures also to be discovered.
You usually start at the parking lot of the Rathlucken hut, shortly after the view over to the eternal wall, you are already in the mystical forest full of legends and stories. The path is also suitable with a stroller. However, the path has remained natural in some places, which means larger roots and stones have to be overcome. It is not a gravel path. After all, mom and dad should also earn the subsequent stop in the hut.
Hiking with children at the eternall wall in Bad Goisern
On the fairytale trail you pass one legend after the other. From the dying king to the giant Krippen, there are legends that our great-grandfathers knew. After reading all the stories to the children, another highlight follows - the path through the eternal wall ("Ewige Wand") and its two tunnels. The path is secured by a wire rope railing - children could still slip if they are careless, for safety reasons you can take the little ones by the hand or put them in the stroller. Otherwise, it's a flat path with a wonderful view. At the end of the path, after a few steps, you go down to a rest area with an even better view of the Dachstein Krippenstein. If you look particularly close, you can also see the giant Krippen waving to you from the 5fingers. On the same way, it goes back to the parking lot.
The treasure of cordiality:
In 2022 , the legend trail was also supplemented with the story "Treasure of Cordiality" .
Here, children can read the story at three stations along the way, find the water spirit and even find their own way through the colorful pieces of wood, which are supposed to represent the magpie's lost gems.
General note: The route is a shared track. That means hikers, families, climbers and mountain bikers share this path. With a little consideration from everyone, good cooperation is possible here too
