The tour up to the Niedergardenalm plateau is one of the most popular around Lake Wolfgangsee for cyclists and hikers alike. From the top of the Bleckwand Mountain, superb views over Lake Wolfgangsee and the surrounding peaks can be enjoyed.
The route starts in Strobl village and follows the former railway line towards Abersee. At the end of the route, you arrive at the camping ground “Schönblick”. Follow the route WO3 through the hamlet Gschwendt to the restaurant Wiesenhof. Please be extra vigilant when crossing the main road (No. 158). A 6km-long good forest road takes you to the Niedergardenalm plateau, where the cycling part of this tour ends. A 1h 15mins hike, then takes you up to the peak of the Bleckwand. Return to Strobl the same way.
On the main road No. 158 you leave in Strobl and the tourist office Strobl is located directly in the center of Strobl. Public parking places are nearby.
