HIKE ALONG THE HORSE RAILWAY LINE
Lambach - Traunfall - Laakirchen - Gmunden
We start at the station Lambach (km 0,0) and walk over the power station Lambach to the station Stadl Paura (km 2,5), where the station building Lambach (Stadl-Paura) be-
found. First on the Bahnweg, then left on the Wimsbacher Straße and further on the Traunreiterweg to Ober Bachloh. From there direction Bad Wimsbach (GH Dickinger), then Ri Moorbad Neydharting - Laholz (monument k u k freiw. Schützenregiment 1915 - 1918) - Bergham (Bildstock) - Außerpühret to Roitham (km 14.1). There is an ÖBB Postbus stop here. The hike continues, always with the guardian of the Salzkammergut, the Traunstein, in view, via Oberbuch to Steyrermühl and on to Laakirchen train station. possibility in the GH Bader (km 21,0). Continue along the Schwaigthaler Kirchenweg to the inn Wirt am Bach (km 23,9) and then via Oberweis to Gmunden. First the inn Engelhof invites you and after 300 m you will find the railroad station Engelhof (km 29,1). The last section of the tour leads "Along the Gmundner Pferdeeisenbahnweg", a theme trail with interesting information boards, along Grünbergweg, Anna- u. Georgstraße, Klosterplatz and Traunbrücke to the finish, Rathausplatz Gmunden (km 31.7).
Variant: The tour can also be started from the train station Stadl Paura to Stocket over the
Traun Au and is here 0.6 km longer.

We recommend that you travel by public transport!
by train:
From Vienna, Linz and Passau to Wels station with IC trains on the Westbahn route (ÖBB and Westbahn) (line 101), then change to the regional trains in the direction of Attnang-Puchheim to Lambach station.
Coming from Salzburg with IC trains on the Westbahn route (ÖBB and Westbahn) (line 101) and from the Salzkammergut (Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Bad Aussee) (line 170) to Attnang-Puchheim station, then change to the regional trains in the direction of Wels/ Linz to Lambach train station.
Coming from Vorchdorf, take the "Vorchdorfer Bahn" from Stern & Hafferl (line 160) to Lambach station.
by bus:
OÖVV bus line 504 Wels - Lambach - Bad Wimsbach - Roitham
OÖVV bus line 505 Lambach - Roitham - Laakirchen - Gmunden - Bad Ischl
With the Traunstein Taxi Route 51 from Laakirchen to the stop at Lambach station, please call the taxi center at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 1691 or order on the otaxi app.
Bike & Hike, arriving by bike:
Coming from Wels or Linz on the R 4 Traunradweg or R6 Römerradweg, or from Gmunden R 4 Traunradweg or from Passau via Vöcklabruck and Schwanenstadt on the R 6 Römerradweg to Lambach, via the Traun power plant in Lambach and then to Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting direction Almspitz. Likewise via the bike connection from the R 11 Almtalradweg from Almsee via Pettenbach, briefly on the R 13 Traunviertlerradweg to Einsiedlung and then via Vorchdorf to Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting. Either directly to the Almspitz or at the Flavia Bad in Lambach as an entry point.
