Hike via the Rathlucken Hut to the Eternal Wall

This approx. 10 km long walk in Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt leads you to the Rathlucken Hut and further to the Eternal Wall. Let yourself be enchanted by the mystical forest and enjoy the unique panorama!

Walk for panorama lovers

The round starts directly at the tourist office Bad Goisern. Go right along Kirchengasse and after the Gasthof Hotel Moserwirt again right along Josef-Putz-Strasse. After a few minutes walk, turn left for a few meters into Hörmannsbergweg, before you turn left again along a forest path and finally reach a house.

Here the so-called Gimsenweg leads you to the right across fields to the village of Primesberg. Enjoy the beautiful view over the village of Bad Goisern and then follow the road. At the crossroads Höllgraben go right uphill and then the forest path towards Himmelbauer. Arrived at the Himmelbauer, the forest path "Übern Himmel" leads you to the Rathlucken Hut. A short break to strengthen yourself on the sunny terrace would be worthwhile here.

Continue along the mountain and fairytale trail. Take enough time for the mystical forest full of legends and stories! Enjoy the incredible panorama of Bad Goisern and the surrounding mountains before you start the descent via the forest road Anzenbergstraße. 

A small hiking trail brings you directly to the B145 at the entrance to the village of Weißenbach. Go left along the sidewalk past the railway station Jodschwefelbad. Cross the B145. The Josef-Eidenberger-Weg leads you behind the Vivea Gesundheitshotel into the village of Posern. Continue through the small park, along Feuerbachgasse and follow Primesbergweg back down into the valley. The field path takes you from the "Sydlerfeld", via the Schötzenbauer, to the Josef-Putz-Straße and back to the starting point.
