The Via Lauriacum is an archaeological circular route and can be accompanied by the app "Via Lauriacum" (free download). The start of this route is at the main square at the entrance to the Museum Lauriacum. Follow the path further to Ennsegg Castle and the castle park. On the way to the Calcaria exhibition, you pass the north corner of the former Roman legionary camp Lauriacum. Continue along the path through Maria Anger and the former legionary camp to the Basilica of St. Laurenz. From here, return to the main square. The app "Via Lauriacum" accompanies you on this circular route with many exciting audios and videos on the subject of the Romans in Enns.Tip:
- Take the unique opportunity to admire the surroundings from over 50 meters high. Climb the 157 steps of the Ennser town tower, past the bells and the old clockwork of the tower up to the roof, where a small platform offers a breathtaking view in all directions. - The Calcaria exhibition shows one of the 12 lime kilns which the Romans used for building the legionary camp. Learn in a video how lime was produced. - Visit the excavations in the crypt of the Basilica of St. Laurenz. Part of the excavation is uncovered in front of the altar. The entire excavation site can be visited as part of a guided tour (by appointment). - Upon arrival back at the Ennser main square starting point, you can take the chance to visit the Museum Lauriacum, one of the most modern Roman exhibitions in Austria.

Getting there
Take the A1 motorway exit Enns Ost – continue towards Enns – take the 1st exit at the roundabout and turn left at the traffic light. Follow the signs to the city center to the main square.

The fastest way to the destination – by train, bus, car, ship, or plane.
Arrival by train to Enns station and then continue by bus to Ennser main square.

Parking spaces are available (paid short-term parking zone) at Ennser main square, as well as a free parking lot (P3) at Lorcherstraße/Mauthausner Straße.
