The gentle hills between Katzing and Edramsberg beckon to go hiking and also to pause and reflect, because interesting views can be enjoyed at every corner: on the one hand into Mühlviertel, but on the other hand also across the Alpine foothills all the way to the Alps with Traunstein and Dachstein.
Starting at the sports field, farming families show on information boards along the hiking trail, which leads straight through fields and meadows, what work they do on their agricultural properties, which crops they grow, which animals they keep and what food is produced from all this. The landscape is also an important habitat for a wide range of plants and animals. At the stations (tree horoscope, exercise garden, wedding garden, elephant grass, from grain to bread, herb fairy, hunters, energy orchard, water garden, horse husbandry, beekeeping, rapeseed, organic, potatoes) visitors can also get active.
Tip:
Rewarding are the few steps as a detour to the 1000-year-old linden tree natural landmark, where you have wonderful panoramic views of Eferding region across Welser Heide all the way to the Alpine chain and continuing to the Majadini alpacas, which groups can feed, pet and go for a walk with after advance notification. Organic farm shop at 14th station and extension of the circuit to Florianibräu private brewery (open every 1st Saturday/month, guided tours on request), to „Maria vom guten Rat“ pilgrimage church, to the village square, playground, Fischer Inn, village cafe and Födroas Dörnbach – circuit.
