The Danube Heights Circular Hiking Trail passes through 3 municipalities, from Pulgarn via Forst to St. Georgen an der Gusen, Frankenberg and Kruckenberg up to Mauthausen. This describes the section Pulgarn - Hohenstein and back.

Description:
From the Pulgarn train and bus stop, we walk to the Pulgarn monastery church. "Am Reichenbach" we follow the path with the green and white marking. Upon reaching Hohenstein at 526 m, 5 minutes further, past a hunting lodge, we arrive at a really beautiful rest place, the "stoanan Stubn" with benches on a striking granite rock and a good view from Luftenberg to Pfenningberg! Back to Pulgarn, we continue on the path, first a somewhat steep forest path down, first crossroad straight ahead, at the second crossroad left, and at the third crossroad with a hut left again. On the forest road we arrive after 15 minutes at the "Faschinger Rast" and continue on the Danube Heights Circular Hiking Trail back to Pulgarn.Equipment:
