High pleasure at the Hengstpass

From the Zickerreith alpine hut on the Hengstpass, follow Klosterweg trail no. 40 in the direction of Dörflmayralm. Once there, leave the Klosterweg and follow hiking trail no. 475 past the Hanslreith and the Edlbachreith.
At Bergerbauernreith you have reached your first culinary destination. Numerous animals such as calves and sheep enliven the alpine pasture here. The hut hostess spoils you with a traditional alpine snack, doughnuts or char from her own mountain spring water. The homemade Kaiserschmarrn at the Reith is particularly popular. Here you can fortify yourself before continuing past the Muttling Chapel to the adventure mountain Wurbauerkogel.
 
Once there, the trail leads down to Windischgarsten. At the end, an ice cream or a homemade cake at Kaffee & Konditorei Thallinger is almost a must. Only the best raw materials and fresh fruit go into the mixing bowl. These are then turned into delicious pastries and ice creams. The cardinal slice, freshly baked every day, is a sweet treat for the palate.
