Schrocken

Step by step, with the goal in mind
The hike on the Schrocken is a great, alpine tour where you can make optimal use of the mountain railway.
The Hinterstoder cable cars take you comfortably from the valley to the Hutterer Höss (1,827 m). Here you already have your destination in sight. Follow trails 40 and 41 past the well-known photo motif "Schafkogelsee" through the alpine pasture area to the Schafkogel. From there, trail no. 217 leads you towards Schrocken. With the Schrocken summit directly in front of you, you will have a breathtaking mountain panorama on all sides as you walk across the soft alpine pasture towards the ridge, which is already visible from afar. You may have to overcome some of the more exposed parts, but the tricky parts are secured with ropes or chains and offer good grip. Afterwards, the trail climbs steadily to the summit. One summit is not enough for you? From Schrocken it is not far to Kreuzspitze (2,327 m) and Hochmölbing (2,327 m).

How difficult is it?
Surefootedness and a head for heights are an absolute must. We recommend an ascent only with really sure-footed, mountain-experienced children from approx. 10 years of age
