Short description:

2-day tour with the possibility to stay overnight at Werfneralm. A cozy stopover is possible at Ebenforstalm. The path runs through an alpine pasture with cows; the cows are accustomed to horses. Then it continues to Werfneralm. Registration is required for overnight stays at Werfneralm. Alternative return ride and catering options can be requested during registration.

Safety guidelines:

Use of the riding trails is at your own risk. Scenic elements (mountains, valleys, rocks, gorges…) are natural hazards and require time reserves in planning.

Riding rules:

- Riding in the National Park is permitted from 15.04. to 31.10. - on other riding trails year-round - from two hours after sunrise until one hour before sunset.

- Ride only on marked routes! Riding is a special nature experience. Wild animals do not run away from the rider. They consider him a strange kind of animal. However, horses are not always predictable when encountering animals, hikers, and cyclists. Therefore, riding in the National Park is only allowed on marked riding routes!

- Always close all pasture gates securely again.

- Many riding routes are also designated as bike paths. Always expect oncoming cyclists or motor vehicles.

- Some routes are long and the terrain is partly steep. Please do not overestimate yourself and your horse and don’t forget sufficient provisions.

- Please understand that compliance with usage instructions and possession of a valid day or annual sticker will be checked.

A day sticker costs €5.00 per day, an annual sticker €30.00 per year.

The annual and day stickers are available at the Nationalpark Kalkalpen visitor centers and riding businesses in the region.
