Werfneralm via Schaumbergalm and Ebenforstalm from Molln (Bodinggraben, Jaidhaus), riding tour
4400 Steyr
From the Scheiblingau parking lot, follow the gravel road for about 1.5 kilometers into the Bodinggraben, one of the most beautiful valley ends of the Eastern Alps. In the Bodinggraben, the valley opens up and the picturesque ensemble of buildings of the former Counts Lamberg with the managed Jagahäusl, the Adjunktenstöckl, the Rosaliakapelle, and the forestry house Bodinggraben welcomes the surprised visitor. Past the Jagahäusl, ride about 200 meters to the Schwarzgraben parking lot, here turn left onto the forest road leading uphill towards Steyrsteg/Windischgarsten. After about 1.3 kilometers, take a left in a hairpin bend towards Schaumbergalm. Only a short, steeper section of forest road requires some stamina, then it goes gently and with little incline to the managed alpine hut. From there, back onto the forest road and further uphill to the junction "Trämpl." After a short distance, the path splits towards the Trämpl summit and the former cattle path to the Ebenforstalm. Here it is absolutely necessary to dismount and lead the horse!!! From the managed Ebenforstalm, continue downhill to the Werfeneralm. Registration is required for overnight stays at the Werfeneralm. Please inquire about alternative return ride and catering options when registering.
