The Traun flows through the Salzkammergut, a rural cultural region that will be the European Capital of Culture in 2024. It is used to cross municipal and national borders. In water pilgrimages, borders are overcome: external geographical and political borders, but also internal borders. Inspired by flowing water that finds its own path, life can find ways towards a more human coexistence.
The second stage goes from Traunkirchen or Ebensee am Traunsee to Bad Ischl.

This stage takes you partly along the Soleleitungsweg and is also the beginning of the Path of the Book.

From the parish church in Ebensee, which is dedicated to Saint Joseph, we go to the Brother Klaus Church in Roith. Via Plankau and the Miesenbachmühle, Langwies and Mitterweißenbach it goes to Kößlbach. Before you reach Bad Ischl, you can visit the Free Christian Community and the Peace Church.

Starting point: Traunkirchen or Ebensee
Destination: Bad Ischl
