This beautiful, slightly longer, technically easy trail circuit of just under 22 kilometres and 789 metres of elevation gain takes us around the climatic health resort of Laussa.Directions:
We start at the Brunngrabe bus stop, walk up the road of the same name and turn left after a few hundred metres. This path now leads us over forest and meadow paths in the direction of the Jochberg chapel, which we leave to the left. Uphill and downhill on beautiful trails, we first reach the Jochberg and then the Hetzer Höhe with its impressive cross and rest stops. We continue left and soon reach the Rebensteiner Mauer. This is where the Oberdambach road begins, which takes us over the Rumpl Höhe, first to the Fuchsenkogel and then to the Sonnberg, which is popular with day trippers. We continue towards Willeitenberg, the highest point of today's tour. Down into Wolfsgrubau, we come to the crossroads with the cider fountain, which is stocked with drinks in season. We walk straight ahead into the forest towards Plattenberg. Once at the top, passing below the wind turbines, we come to the second cider fountain and then onto Plattenberg Straße, which we take to the right and follow downhill. At the junction with Laussa Straße, we walk up the meadow at the Schöffthaler Kapelle chapel and come to a path that leads us below the Sauzahn. Back on tarmac, we continue towards Döllergraben until we reach the Fatima Chapel. We keep to the right and walk along Spitzbergstraße to the Steinalt farmstead. Behind it, a path leads us down onto Laussa Straße and to our starting point at the bus stop.Tip:
There is a cider fountain (also with apple juice !!) - please take some change with you.Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.
We have a general checklist for you here:
weather-appropriate running gear for the season - weather forecast - region - elevation. This includes: * a waterproof rain jacket * a waterproof rain trousers suitable for running * Gloves and warm headgear (hood/headband/towel). * sunglasses + sunscreen + headgear for very warm days
Trail running shoes
Drinking bottles, softflasks or a hydration bladder with enough liquid for the respective tour (if necessary also salt tablets/magnesium)
Snacks for the energy boost in between: Energy bars, gels, chocolate, trail mix,
Running backpack: ideally a trail running vest / a trail running backpack or a belly belt for small tours.
Drypack: to keep your valuables or change of clothes dry (optionally a small garbage bag).
Emergency blanket

Emergency whistle (often integrated in trail backpacks)
Cell phone
Maps (online and/or offline)
E-card or insurance card
Some cash
Grödeln/Spikes: these can be a great advantage in winter and icy conditions.
