From the Klausriegler car park in Trattenbach, the well-marked hiking trail leads steadily uphill – first over a meadow, then through shady forests – and finally across a high plateau up to the summit of Schoberstein (1,285 m). Right next to it, the Schobersteinhaus invites you to stop for refreshments. The descent takes place either along the forest road or a nicely laid-out hiking trail, past the Mandlmais Chapel, and further along the forest road down to the Scheibachfall and back to the starting point at the Klausriegler car park.

The starting point of this circular hike is the Klausriegler car park in Trattenbach. The well-marked hiking trail initially leads steadily uphill – over open meadow areas and further through shady forest sections. After a final ascent over a spacious high plateau, the summit of Schoberstein (1,285 m) is finally reached. Just below the summit, the Schobersteinhaus invites you for a cozy break with a panoramic view.
For the descent, follow the mountain ridge eastwards to Koglerstein/Schinder and then enter the forest. The path continues down to the idyllic Mandlmais Chapel. From there, it goes on a forest road past the Scheibachfall back to the starting point at the Klausriegler car park.

- Fleece jacket (for very cold temperatures)
- Waterproof outdoor jacket or light winter jacket
- Warm softshell trousers or hiking pants - in severe cold: ski trousers
- Hat and gloves
- Scarf or multifunctional cloth
- Gaiters (in snow)
- Warm hiking socks
- Sturdy, winter-suitable footwear (waterproof, grippy sole)

- Sitting pad
- Trekking poles or ski poles (with winter baskets), if needed
- Light crampons or Grödels
- Backpack (ideally with rain cover)
- First aid kit
- Headlamp
- Thermos flask (e.g., with tea) and carbohydrate-rich snacks/food
A parking fee (currently € 2.50) is payable at the Klausriegler car park.

From Trattenbach station, the path leads steeply uphill through the valley of the Feitelmakers towards the Klausriegler car park. Walking time approx. 1 hour.
