Description:

Starting from Wolfsgruberau, the hike follows farm roads and gentle mountain ridges eastwards back to the starting point.

Directions:

From the Wolfsgruberau parking lot, you first walk downhill to the next crossroads towards the Wolfsgrub farm. There you follow the lightly used farm road to the right. The path passes several farmhouses before reaching a larger fork. Here too you keep right and continue along the path, passing two more farmhouses. After the last house, a forest road branches off right towards the Himmelsschaukel.

You follow this only for a short distance, then a path branches off to the right along the edge of a forest. This leads directly to the Himmelsschaukel, which offers an ideal place for a short break with a beautiful view.

From there, the return route runs southeast over meadows and through shady forest areas along the Sonnberg and Willeitenberg mountains. The path follows pleasant trails and farm roads until you finally reach the starting point at the Wolfsgruberau parking lot again.

Tip:

A visit to the Himmelsschaukel is especially worthwhile in clear weather – the view into the valley and over the surrounding hills is particularly impressive then. Those who wish can bring a blanket and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere there a little longer.

At Sonnberg there is a cider hut with drinks.

Opportunity to stop at the Geiger guesthouse in Laussa.
