Right in Upper Austria, southeast of Salzburg, is a large lake. One of the best known lakes in this area, the Lake Hallstatt.
On the banks of the lake, in a beautiful valley, you find the town of Obertraun. During the summer a very popular holiday area and in winter a popular ski-area.
The area of the Lake Hallstatt is so unique that it in 1997 was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

by car - A1 motorway exit "Regau / Salzkammergut", from there via Bad Ischl and Hallstatt to Obertraun. Coming from the south on the A10 motorway, exit "Eben im Pongau", from there via Annaberg, Gosau and Hallstatt to Obertraun. Or you can drive on the highway B 145 via Bad Aussee to Obertraun.

by train - to station "Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen", then 350 m by foot
by bus - to stop "Obertraun Feriendorf"
