Radweg St. Thomas am Bl. - Bad Kreuzen

Enjoy cultural treasures and pure nature!

Start at the parking lot of the Schatz.Kammer - Burg Kreuzen. Enjoy coffee and cake in the castle tavern and from the viewing platform on the keep with a magnificent view of the Danube region of Strudengau from Bad Kreuzen Castle.

Ride towards St. Thomas am Blasenstein, past the Bad Kreuzen leisure center with outdoor pool, beach volleyball court and indoor tennis court, continuing through the Stille Tal. There you can enjoy fresh trout at the Stilles Tal inn or take a short break for refreshments.

The route then leads uphill through shady woodland with a view of the pilgrimage church of St. Thomas am Blasenstein. Once you reach the market square, numerous sights await you: the largest doll's house museum in Austria, the "luftg'selchte Pfarrer" (mummy), the Bucklwehluck'n and the pilgrimage church. Alternatively, the Oberer Burgstall offers an impressive view as far as the Ötscher. The 3,000 m² nature park playground also provides variety for families.

The Gasthaus Ahorner invites you to enjoy regional specialties and homemade pastries. There is also a charging station for e-bike riders.

The route continues along the nature park cycle path through the Käfermühltal valley. Romantic forest and rock formations along the stream create a special atmosphere. After a climb through the forest, the route leads flat through agricultural areas and then downhill again. After another short climb, the view of the church in Bad Kreuzen and the tour's destination opens up.

In Bad Kreuzen, we recommend a visit to Austria's largest Kneipp garden at the Kneipp Traditionshaus. You can recharge your batteries in the brine-rich air in the graduation house.
