Long-distance trail Attersee-Attergau Stage 3 Unterach - Steinbach

The third part of the Attersee-Attergau long-distance hiking trail leads to one of the most beautiful alpine pastures in the Salzkammergut, the "Eisenauer Alm" with a fantastic view of the Schafberg.
Along the way, there are always small viewing points that offer a fantastic view of Lake Attersee and Lake Mondsee.

From the centre of Unterach am Attersee, head to the leisure centre, past the climbing tower to the footbridge over the Seeache. Follow the Viktor Kaplan Weg to the turn-off towards Eisenau. The ascent through the forest becomes steadily steeper until you reach the "Eisenauer Alm" saddle at 1036 metres. From here, you can already see the serviced "Buchberghütte" and "Kienberghütte".

After a stop at one of the two huts  return 400 metres and then turn right on a meadow path downhill to the Oberackeralm and on to the Unterackeralm and the signpost.
Here you turn right down to the Ackersbach stream, which must be crossed.

CAUTION - when the water level is high, crossing the stream bed can be difficult.
Possible detour: From the above-mentioned signpost down to the stream in the direction of the Burggrabenklamm path (wire rope safety). At the next junction, turn right towards Mooskreuzung - here you meet the other path again.

At the junction to the north of the Moosalm turn left along the forest road to Burgau (approx. 5 kilometres) down to the shore of Lake Attersee and continue along the road to Weißenbach. Follow the Nikoloweg northwards to Steinbach.
