Forest air bathing in Lasberg

The northern part of Lasberg lies in the Central Mühlviertel highlands and the southern part in the Aist-Naarn-Kuppenland. The central settlement and economic area of Lasberg, with the Feistritz river flowing through it, stretches out in between. The landscape centre of the northern highlands is the Haugenödtberg, the southern hilltop area the Buchberg. With these two landscape centres, Lasberg has a rich supply of vital energy and the wealth of two different landscape qualities that meet in the Feistritz valley.

Dornach forest air bathing trail

The starting point for a cultural and historical hike is the Haltestelle inn. Here we can make a detour to the mouth of the Feistritz into the Feldaist before the actual hike.
The following hike takes us from the inn to the Dornachgraben. We follow the meditation trail to Gerichtshölzl and continue through the Feistritz valley to the Feistritz reservoir. Finally, we come to the 400-year-old Fürstenhammer with an original preserved hammer forge museum, where we can take a break. Between the forge and the Feistritz there used to be a charcoal-burning kiln, whose fiery atmosphere can still be felt. After the break, the route leads out of the valley past the Blöchl chapel to the Dornach castle ruins. It is the only castle in the Freistritztal and rises on a rock (530 m) on the steeply sloping river valley, with its mighty round tower looking out over the landscape. Rest at the "Malerbankerl" and listen to the history of Dornach. Continue along the cultural hiking trail to the rest bench just before Siegelsdorf, where we can enjoy the peace and seclusion. We return to the starting point via the Auweg. Walking time approx. 2 hours.
