Trail riding at its best - at 1,000m above sea leveland with magnificent views.
Pure nature, spectacular views and virtually untouched trails: the ultimate for riding enthusiasts.
Starting points for this riding tour are the Gräser horse farm in Sandl or the Forellenwirt in Mitterbach. At around 1,000 meters above sea level, the trail leads through a gentle plateau around the Viehberg. The route features impressive rock formations, the "Freiwald" observatory - one of the most powerful observatories in Europe - and sweeping views of the Spörbichl wind turbines. The ride leads through quiet forests that were once shaped by glassmakers and charcoal burners in the Freiwald - a successful combination of nature experience and regional history.
44 % paved path/asphalt and 56 % on field, forest and meadow paths.
Sights along the bridleway:
- Maltsch source - bird sanctuary in Sandl
