Weinberger Castle Advent

The Weinberger Schloss Advent in Kefermarkt is known far beyond the region for its festive atmosphere and will take place from December 11 to 13, 2026.

The Weinberger Schloss Advent is one of Austria’s most beautiful Advent markets and is known far beyond the country’s borders. More than 120 exhibitors and live workshops will delight visitors from Friday, December 11, through Sunday, December 13, 2026, with a rich, sophisticated, and refined selection of handmade art objects —true to the motto“Art Instead of Kitsch.”

The singer-songwriter duo Toni and Margit Knittel of“Bluatschink”will perform an Advent concert titled “Merry Christmas” every day at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the Knights’ Hall—a total of six concerts (included in the admission price).

The Knights’ Hall will once again host a wonderful Christmas music program. The Arienbläser brass ensemble from the Kefermarkt Brass Band and the Nordwald hunting horn players will also spread festive Christmas cheer from the castle tower. Every day at 2:00 p.m., Margit Obermayr invites guests to a fairy tale hour in the tower, and every day at 4:00 p.m., Josef Mitschan tells“Stories from the Hat,”also in the tower. Culinary delights are provided by the castle restaurant and numerous food stalls offering regional specialties.

On Friday and Saturday, visitors and exhibitors can enjoy a cozy evening in the ice cellar and in front of the castle (6 to 10 p.m.).

A free shuttle service takes guests directly from the parking lot near the train station to the castle and back again.

Note: Please understand that pets are not permitted anywhere on the castle grounds.

Reduced-price day admission for people with disabilities and students (please present ID without being asked): €5

Admission for groups of 20 or more: €7 (please pay as a group at the ticket office)
