Well-known villages and quiet forests, imposing farm houses and old churches, wonderful viewpoints and a nostalgic train - waiting for you along the first stage of your hike around Lake Attersee. Along the way, there are not only excellent restaurants for hungry hikers but also perfect spots for a refreshing dive into the lake.
Starting out from the parking lot above the Lido of Seewalchen am Attersee, you walk up to the Parish church and continue westward on "Schulweg", passing by the music school and the schools of Seewalchen. You then get to Dr.-Rudolf-Schuh-Straße and continue rightwards on this street. At the edge of the wood you turn left into a forest track taking you to Ginzkeyweg. Continue rightwards through the forest on Ginzkeyweg which branches off to the right and you pass by the Ginzkey monument. Now follow the signs marking the Attersee-Westwanderweg which passes behind the restaurant Litzlberger Keller and then continues on side roads, dirt roads, forest tracks and meadow paths west of Seewalchen am Attersee (Litzlberg neighbourhood). You then arrive at the small church of Buchberg, dating back to the 16th century.

From there, you continue to your right 350m on the federal road before you take to the right and get back on the Westwanderweg. Passing by the Weinberg settlement, you arrive in Haining. Turn left, pass by the riding hall to the edge of the neighbourhood Berg and continue left through the forests of the Buchberg mountain at approx. 650 altitude. From the Schlossberg you walk down into the village centre of Attersee am Attersee (496 m). The tourist office is in Nußdorferstraße close to the Lido.

From there, walk on to the train station of the narrow-gauge Attergau-Lokalbahn, follow the narrow path running along the rails to Palmsdorf. After the village, continue alongside the tracks to the motorway bridge. RIght after the bridge turn left and walk through the Lohen neighbourhood. Finally turn right into the Wildenhagerstraße and Römerstraße taking you into the centre of St. Georgen im Attergau.

Get back on Römerstraße and follow this road to the end of the village. Then continue about 2 km on the asphalted country road. You'll pass underneath the moterway again. Then, in the neighbourhood Buch, you have to watch out: Turn left at a cycling/riding path sign that can easily be missed, you will continue on a gravel road turning into a field path through the meadons to Wildenhag.
From there you continue on the right side of Kronberg Bezirksstraße, passing by the Hotel Waldmühle. After that, turn right into Glücksweg (Mahlweg) and walk uphill through the forest to 'Kronbergplatzl' and the Kronberg chapel at an altitude of 705m above sealevel. Enjoy a wonderful  view over the Attergau region and Lake Attersee.
The signpost „RW Kronberg“ points in two directions - Please briefly follow the road uphill towards Jausenstation Hollerweger and turn left into the second side street in the right-hand bend after the restaurant and wold towards the Kronberg mountain south of you. After a short ascent you follow the forest road towards the right through clearings, passing below the summit (789 m) and along  the south-eastern flank covered by forests to Wienerroith were you get out of the forest again. Again, you are rewarded with an excellent view towards the lake. A few more steps on the acces road to the buildings on the left until the marked hiking path to Nußdorf begins on the left. It runs along the meadow and descends steeply through the forest. You arrive at your destination Nußdorf am Attersee via the Wildholzweg.
