The third part of the long-distance hiking trail Attersee-Attergau leads to one of the most beautiful alpine pastures of the Salzkammergut, the "Eiseneraualm". A dreamlike view surrounds itself here on the Schafberg as well as the Mondsee & Attersee.
Starting from the tourist office hosted by the municipal office of Unterach am Attersee (Hauptstraße 9) you set out westward to the recreation centre and the monument to Viktor Kaplan, where there is also an information panel about the themed path dedicated to the inventor. Follow this themed path in reverse direction through Elisabethallee to the bridge over Seeache (Station 11, turbine blade wheel). Then pass under Seeleitenstraße and walk upstream passing by the pharmaceutical factory (Station 10, small power station) and after about 1 km, get onto a road.

A little further up on this road, the marked route no. 17 branches off left towards Eisenauer Alm. Continue a short distance on the forest road, then upwards on a secure but slowly steepening path (don’t miss the beautiful views of Lake Attersee and Mondsee). Towards the end of the ascent you pass under the power transmission line and hike up on a stony path (steps) to a small saddle at the edge of Eisenauer Alm mountain pasture (1015 m). Take left on the pasture road towards the two mountain inns Buchberghütte and Kienberger Hütte.

Back on the gravel road which, after the junction with the ascension path, approaches a transmitter mast. Before getting there, turn right onto hiking path No. 16, passing beneath the power line again and leading down through the forest to the Oberackeralm hut. Continue on the forest road to Unterackeralm. There, turn right onto the narrow Ackerweg descending into Ackergraben.  After crossing it, continue on a forest road until you get to the junction with Valerieweg originating in Unterburgau on the southern bank of Lake Attersee. Turn right onto Valerieweg to the nearby pasture of Moosalm where you get to the route of stage 3 of the Salzkammergut Berge Seen Trail which you follow to the left (i.e. in reverse direction). The forest road no. 804 leads you over a wooded saddle to Lasseralmbach stream and – taking to the left below the abandoned Lasseralm – down to Unterburgau am Attersee, where you cross the federal road. Take to the right onto the bike and walk way next to the road to Burgau. In Burgau, take left to avoid the road for a while.
Then the walk way is back next to the road and you cross the bridge over Weißenbach river into Weißenbach am Attersee.

The last stretch of this stage, identical to stage 3 of the Salzkammergut BergeSeen Trail  continues on Nikoloweg, branching off to the right just after Hotel Post (sign ‘Künstlerweg am Attersee’, Wegweiser „Steinbach“). Branching off to the left, it runs northwards through the steep and rocky forested slopes at the foot of the Höllengebirge mountains  – passing over metal stairs, some stretches are secured with ropes. Passing by the junction with the Atterseeclimbing trail Mahdlgupf you get to Brennerriesensteig (No. 821) that you follow rightwards for a bit, before taking to the left and walking into the area of Forstamt am Attersee and into the village Steinbach am Attersee.
