From the starting point, the route heads south via Neupernstein Castle to the village of Weinzierl, on to Atzelsdorf and via Gradnteich and Alpenbad to the Scythe Smith Museum. Then the loop leads north to the Müllerviertel and the way back leads along the Verschönerungsweg.
Trail number: K4, K94, K1, K2
Directions:From the Frohsinnwiese car park, hike to the Kirchdorf town park with children's playgrounds and fitness trail. Continue over Neupernstein Castle, where a magnificent castle view awaits you.
Now the K 94 trail branches off and leads south to the district of Weinzierl and on via Mitterweg to Atzelsdorf. Cross the road to Altpernstein Castle here and after approx. 150 m turn right onto the path via Gradnteich and Alpenbad.
After the car park at the Alpenbad Micheldorf (2 starting point), keep slightly to the left and walk on to the Scythe Smithy Museum. From there, continue in a northerly direction via Herrenhaus into Alte Spitalstraße.
Later take the subway of the B 138 and you are already in the Müllerviertel. Follow Gräberfeldstraße to the crossroads, where you turn left, then over the level crossing and right along the railway embankment.
The way back, K 2 leads along Verschönerungsweg, here you go through a railway subway by the tennis courts back to Kirchdorf town centre.
Tip:Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Kirchdorf/Krems or Micheldorf: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.

From Vienna/Salzburg: A1 towards Linz > A9 Pyhrnautobahn - exit Inzersdorf.
From Linz: A9 Pyhrn motorway - exit Inzersdorf
From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > exit Klaus > federal road B 138
Public TransitArrival with the Pyhrnbahn, there are stops in Schlierbach, Kirchdorf/Krems and Micheldorf.
