The castle tour leads from Bad Zell to the two castle ruins of Prandegg in Schönau im Mühlkreis and Ruttenstein in the municipality of Pierbach.

This mountain bike tour starts in Bad Zell. From there, it leads to the Prandegg castle ruins in Schönau im Mühlkreis. It is the second largest castle in Upper Austria and rises on a narrow rocky ridge high above the Waldaisttal valley. Another highlight of this tour is the Ruttenstein ruins, one of the mightiest fortified castles in Austria. From the tower, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Mühlviertel as far as the Alps. Via Pierbach and Rechberg, where you can cool off in the bathing lake, the tour leads through the Mühlviertel Nature Park back to the starting point in Bad Zell.
